Core and Cuttings Database
The CRC
has established a database, which lists the contents of the collection
sorted by township/range and by latitude/longitude. Information included
is state, county, operator, location, formation, and geologic age.
Notes on Latitude/Longitude
Values
(1) The latitude/longitude values
are for the center of the section in which the well is located. The values
are not for the exact location of the well itself.
(2)
Latitude values in this database are shown as positive numbers
because they are located in the Northern Hemisphere. This corresponds with
standard international practice.
(3) Longitude
values in this database are also shown as positive numbers. This does not
correspond with standard international practice, where it is customary to
use negative numbers for longitudes in the Western Hemisphere.
