Oil Shale

The Core Research Center collection includes oil shale cores from the Green River Formation in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming. For the past ten years some of these cores have been unavailable because they were stored in the Anvil Points Mine near Rifle, Colorado. All of the cores have been removed from the mine and are now available for study at the Core Research Center.
